The Client
Not Too Shabby by Charlotte is the creative outlet of Charlotte Williams, restoration queen.
Charlotte lovingly brings old furniture back from the brink and transforms them into beautifully bespoke pieces, using both technical skill and creative vision.
From humble beginnings, her business has enjoyed incredible growth, seeing Charlotte take over a beautiful old church building and commanding a months long waitlist.
The brief
Charlotte approached me when her website was first built – she wanted to take her marketing to the next level but was unsure where to begin.
I suggested she start building her email list as a way to keep track of the people who love her work, and to connect with them directly when she has something to offer.
The Process
Charlotte has a very personable and open style across her platforms and needed her copy to reflect that. As the first piece of communication from her, subscribers need to feel they’re hearing from Charlotte herself.
I spent a lot time on Charlotte’s social media, as well as talking with her during our briefing session, so I could channel her individual Tone of Voice.
I wrote and formatted Charlotte’s welcome email to kickstart her email marketing campaign and enrich her client relationships.
I found the process of working with Lily really rewarding, it was so helpful to have a professional assessment on my website with clear direction. I loved Lily’s advice to set up a welcome email for subscribers. I hadn’t even thought of this and to be honest was a bit intimidated by it.
Having Lily help me through it gave me the confidence to stop procrastinating. I liked how we collaborated, we got much better results and I felt very involved in the process. I didn’t think I had the budget for copywriting services before but now that I’ve worked with Lily I totally understand the value of it!
