Pulse is a recruitment agency for healthcare professionals, providing staffing solutions for the NHS and private health in the UK and worldwide.
Pulse approached me to write some blog posts for their nursing blog, and later, to work with them on their new website. They needed the entire site to be rewritten and refined to reduce duplicate content and provide a smooth and coherent user experience.
Drawing on my experience in healthcare – my previous career was as an oncology research nurse – I was able to write straight from the heart on the subject of tragedy as a healthcare professional. Tone of Voice still needed to be recognisably Pulse’s though, so I spent time reading previous blog posts and discussing the brief with various members of the marketing department.
The new website was a much more involved process and required a huge amount of research into Pulse, their employees, their clients, their projects and their processes, from onboarding in the UK to relocating staff in Australia or the Middle East.
This in depth research formed the basis of my work as I wrote everything from the home page copy to client case studies and employee bios.
